Hauptbuch: Mehrwert
Fotografien, die in landschaftlichen oder urbanen Situationen entstanden sind, provozieren die Frage: Wo ist das?. Hauptbuch : Mehrwert versucht die Aufdringlichkeit dieser Frage weit in den Hintergrund zu drängen, damit unser Auge im Betrachten zwischen dem Interesse an der Übersicht des ganzen Bildes und den einzelnen Details oszillieren kann. Das gleichzeitige Bergreifen-Wollen von sowohl Übersicht als auch Detail sind die Voraussetzung für umfangreiches Erkennen von Zusammenhängen, seien sie kulturell, politisch, sozial oder wirtschaftlich.
Hauptbuch: Mehrwert untersucht, wie weit die Frage nach dem Entstehungsort einer Fotografie zurückgedrängt werden kann, damit Platz für neue ungeplante Narrationen entsteht. Um das zu erreichen werden panoramische Fotografien geknickt und gedreht, ohne inhaltliche Bezüge mit anderen Fotografien konfrontiert und durch das Zitieren von Tapetenmustern konterkariert. Die ästhetische Kombination der Fotografien wird durch Lagen von Schraffur artigen Zeichnungen irritiert. Kann es dadurch gelingen, das Auge zu einer längeren Verweildauer anzuregen? Wie weit kann das Eindämmen und Zurückdrängen von inhaltlichen und örtlichen Bezügen getrieben werden, damit unser Betrachten sich gleichzeitig auf das Wechselspiel von Übersicht und Detail einlassen kann, ohne das diese Bezüge völlig verschwinden? Kann der Wunsch nach mehr und tieferer Erkenntnis dadurch erzeugt und bedient werden, dass das Auge auf eine nicht lineare Fahrt durch ein Bild eingeladen wird, dessen Ziel unbestimmt und offen ist? Kann neues Vertrauen in Bilder und Fotografien gewonnen werden, wenn ihre manipulativen Kräfte weitgehend ignoriert und neutralisiert werden?
Wie in anderen Serien bergen auch die Bilder der Serie Hauptbuch : Mehrwert Verweise auf Orte. Sie fördern durchaus die Suche nach einer vermuteten dokumentarischen Absicht. Darüber hinaus wollen sie aber dem Betrachter die Gelegenheit bieten, durch das Wandern der Augen zwischen den Werten der Details und den Qualitäten der gesamten Ansicht Freiraum für das Generieren von ungeplanten Erfahrungen zu schaffen.
Die Serie besteht aus 75 Blättern. Sie werden in einer Auflage von 5 Exemplaren als Inkjet-Drucke auf Zeichenkarton im Format von 100 cm x 70 cm produziert und in weißem Holz gerahmt.
In einer zusätzlichen Sonderausgabe werden Inkjet-Drucke im Format von 100 cm x 70 cm mit Bootslack überzogen. Die schraffierende Zeichnung, die in der Edition aus eingescannten Tinte- und Kohlezeichnungen als digitale Ebenen geschaffen wurde, wird durch rein manuell erstelltes Übermalen mit Ölfarben ersetzt.

Photographs taken in scenic or urban situations provoke the question: Where is that? Ledger: value added tries to push the question of the question far into the background, so that our eye can oscillate in the consideration between the interest in the overview of the whole picture and the individual details. At the same time, the desirability of understanding both the overview and the detail is the prerequisite for the comprehensive identification of connections, whether cultural, political, social or economic.
Ledger: value added explores the extent to which the question of the origin of a photograph can be pushed back so that space for new unplanned narrations arises. In order to achieve this, panoramic photographs are kinked and turned, without confronting content with other photographs and counter-cited by citing wallpaper patterns. The aesthetic combination of photographs is irritated by layers of hatch-like drawings. Can this result in an increase in the duration of the eye? How far can the containment and suppression of content and local references be driven so that our contemplation can at the same time admit the interplay of overview and detail without these references disappear completely? Can the desire for more and deeper knowledge be generated and served by inviting the eye to a non-linear journey through an image whose goal is indeterminate and open? Can new confidence in images and photographs be gained if their manipulative forces are largely ignored and neutralized?
As in other series, the pictures of the series Ledger: value added also contain references to places. They certainly promote the search for a suspected documentary intention. In addition, they want to provide the viewer with the opportunity to create space for the generation of unplanned experiences by moving the eyes between the values of the details and the qualities of the overall view.
The series consists of 75 sheets. They are produced in an edition of 5 copies as ink-jet prints on a carton in the format of 100 cm x 70 cm and are framed in white wood.
In an additional special edition, ink-jet prints in the format of 100 cm x 70 cm are coated with boat lacquer. The shading drawing, created in the edition of scanned ink and charcoal drawings as digital layers, is replaced with oil paints by purely manual painting.
